Administrators can control access to the Createspace authoring environment and its content management features by configuring specific permissions in Roles and Permissions. These permissions distinguish between users who can author content, manage reusable assets, and deploy updates to live courses.

Important: Createspace permissions are managed at the Organization level. Users do not need a specific course enrollment to access Createspace, but they must have the appropriate permissions assigned at the organization level. |

Important: Createspace uses a unique Org Unit Type for modules and objects created within the library. This Org Unit Type is visible to Super Administrators and may affect organizational reporting and Brightspace Data Sets (BDS). |
Recommended role configurations
- Instructional Designer: Enable View Createspace, Can manage objects, Can access Media Library Management tool, and Can Sync and Deploy.
- Subject Matter Expert (Contributor): Enable View Createspace and Can manage objects. Do not enable Can Sync and Deploy if contributors should not update live courses.
- Createspace Administrator: Enable all permissions, including Can manage all objects and Can receive notifications from Createspace.
