About Bulk Course Import - BCI

Bulk Course Import (BCI) provides a simplified, continuous experience for clients that are migrating to Brightspace or any clients that need to import new courses in bulk.

This is the paper note and pencil icon used for notes.

Note: You must have the required Bulk Course Import permissions to access Bulk Course Import (BCI).

The Bulk Course Import tool has two interfaces in Brightspace:

Bulk Course Import tab

The Bulk Course Import tab, located by navigating to Admin Tools > Bulk Tool Configuration, provides the ability to define the Course Template for the course packages you import. This page also displays the SFTP Credentials that are configured to work with Course Conversion and Bulk Course Import.

Bulk Course Import History dashboard

The Bulk Course Import History dashboard, located by navigating to Admin Tools > Bulk Course Import History, provides a detailed list of completed and in-progress course imports. Key features of the BCI History dashboard include:

Ability to filter, search, and export results
Expandable cards for each import provide at-a-glance status of the import and a detailed summary, including a count of errors and warnings encountered during package conversion
Course name, code, and org unit ID
Quick links to view and download import logs
Ability to download the source course package and package details for ease of troubleshooting
