Once you have completed all setup for Distributed Administration, a Sub-Org Administrator can access the Sub-Org Unit homepage and complete delegated tasks. The purpose of this page is to show you what a Sub-Org Admin homepage looks like.

|
Important: You can create new courses using the Create Courses widget, however, when you create a course using this widget in a Distributed Administration setup, the widget will display all departments under an organization, which can result in a course being created in a department outside of the sub-organization. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that you do not use the Create Course widget to create new courses in a Distributed Administration setup. Refer to Create a Course in the Create Course widget for more details.

Organization homepage and Sub-Org Unit homepage
When a Sub-Org Unit Administrator logs in to Brightspace, they see the Organization homepage. This homepage should only present a limited experience to Sub-Org Administrators, with no permission to access Admin Tools, organization-level courses, or homepage editing settings.
This organization homepage is set up to show Sub-Org Administrator roles a limited view with access to a custom widget that links to their Sub-Org Unit homepage.

This Sub-Org Unit homepage is configured to show Sub-Org Administrators only the Course Admin option accessible from the Navbar.

When the Sub-Org Administrator navigates to Course Admin, they can access Homepages, Navigation & Themes, Widgets, Courses, Org Unit Editor, and View Copy Course History.
