- The purpose of the the PII Options is to mask sensitive PII upon request.
- PII Options are most commonly paired with a Refresh but can be run without a Refresh.
- PII Options are standard offerings included with any Refresh upon request.
- Please include which options you would like when requesting a Refresh.
- Multiple PII options can be requested.
Delete Email Addresses
Option Code = pii_delete_noncascading_email_addresses
What it does
- Delete user email addresses
- This is used to prevent email from the test site being received by real students
- Example: Testing New Classlist based emails on Test will send real emails
Who it affects
- This can be targeted to a specific ILP Organization with shared / consortium instances.
- This affects users in Student, Parent, Teacher, Staff and Employee roles.
- This excludes users in Cascading and Tool Roles. Example:
- Administrator, Super Administrator, LTI Advantage User, SIS Integration User
Delete ILP Local Passwords
Option Code = pii_delete_noncascading_passwords
What it does
- Delete the local ILP passwords preventing user login with local passwords.
- This will not prevent user login if they are authorized for SSO login.
Who it affects
- This can be targeted to a specific ILP Organization with shared / consortium instances.
- This affects users in Student, Parent, Teacher, Staff and Employee roles.
- This excludes users in Cascading and Tool Roles. Example:
- Administrator, Super Administrator, LTI Advantage User, SIS Integration User
Communication Clean
Option Code = pii_communication_clean
What it does
- Mask the PII in Email
- Affected Items: AddressTo, AddressFrom, AddressReplyTo, AddressCC, AddressBCC, Body
- Attachments are removed from both Emails and News items
- Email Signatures are removed
Who it affects
- This can be targeted to a specific ILP Organization with shared / consortium instances.
- This affects users in Student, Parent, Teacher, Staff and Employee roles.
- This excludes users in Cascading and Tool Roles. Example:
- Administrator, Super Administrator, LTI Advantage User, SIS Integration User
ePortfolio and Profile clean
Option Code = pii_eportfolio_and_profile_clean
What it does
- Break ePortfolio links and images for affected users.
- Clear the entire User Profile for affected users. Includes:
- Favorite Memories, Hobbies, Hometown, Nickname, Phone numbers, etc.
Who it affects
- This can be targeted to a specific ILP Organization with shared / consortium instances.
- This affects users in Student, Parent, Teacher, Staff and Employee roles.
- This excludes users in Cascading and Tool Roles. Example:
- Administrator, Super Administrator, LTI Advantage User, SIS Integration User
Data Anonymizer
Option Code = pii_anonymize_users_exclude_cascading
What it does
- Full ILP Anonymizer Run with Default Anonymizer configuration.
- Anonymizer replaces user PII in the ILP using various definitions. Examples:
- Replace usernames with newly generated GUIDs.
- Replace First and Last names of users randomly using a dictionary of common names.
- If the you would like to customize what is anonymized then an IC engagement is required.
Who it affects
- Brightspace PII Data Anonymizer affects all Organizations in the ILP.
- All users are affected by Anonymizer including Cascading Roles and Tool Roles.
- Basic User Information is maintained for users in Cascading and Tool Roles.
