Create a course in the Create Course widget

Use the Create Course widget on your organization homepage to create a new course offering quickly (if you have the required permission).

This is the bullhorn icon used for warnings.

Important: If your organization uses Distributed Administration, do not use the Create Course widget.The widget displays all departments under the organization, which can result in creating a course in a department outside your sub-organization. Refer to About Distributed Administration for more details.

To create a course in the Create Course widget

To start creating a course, select Create Course in the Create Course widget.
To name your course, enter a course name in Course Name.
To choose where the course is created, select a value from Department, and then select Next.
To finish creating the course, confirm the course name and department, and then select Create Course.

The course is created, and you are enrolled with a predefined role (for example, Instructor). You can open the new course from the confirmation page and start creating content. If you have enrollment permissions, you can also enroll other users in the course.
