The Publish All button at the top of the page publishes all of the suggested levels of achievement to all learners for all outcomes. You can publish these items at any time during the course. The overall level of achievement functions very similarly to the calculated final grade in the grades page. Once the overall level of achievement is published to a learner for an outcome, it remains visible to the learner until it is retracted. The overall level of achievement calculation is updated every time a new assessment activity is evaluated as long as a manual evaluation has not been performed or feedback has not been provided. This provides the learner with a continually updated suggestion regarding the level of performance in the course for each outcome.
Bulk Publish and Bulk Retract
Use the Publish All button to publish the overall achievement evaluations to all learners for all outcomes in one action. Once all the evaluations are published, the button becomes Retract All, which allows instructors to retract all the published evaluations. You can publish or retract evaluations at any point in the course depending upon when or if the instructor wants to make the overall level of achievement evaluations visible.
The Mastery View page displays an [update] in progress status when you click Publish All or Retract All. Publishing and retracting updates can take several minutes to complete. You can navigate away from the Mastery View page while the updates are ongoing to perform other tasks.

Sharing levels of achievement to learners
If an instructor wants the learners to see levels continually updated throughout the course as submitted work is evaluated, they can publish overall levels to learners very early in the course. Once the levels have been published, they remain visible to the learners until they are retracted (individually or in bulk) from the learner view. If an instructor wants to only display overall levels to learners at specific time or progress checkpoints in the course, such as after quarterly reviews of progress have been completed, they can perform a bulk publish. Optionally, they can then use the bulk retract action if the overall level suggestions are visible for a limited period of time. However, some instructors may choose to use the overall level suggestion as an instructor-only tool throughout the course.
