What are tags? Why should I tag my community questions? If you've got questions about what tags are, how they work, and why they are valuable, you've landed in the right place!
Tags are an important component within our community. They have a few main purposes that we've outlined within this article.
What Do Tags Do?
Tags help us understand which Brightspace topics are being asked about most often. This data helps us create new resources and partner with the right people to better answer your more pressing questions.
Tags Also:
- Help us to review incoming questions that are specific to Brightspace Tools and to respond to increased questions about specific workflows
- Help members find answers to current, FAQs about key tools
How Can I Use Tags?
When asking a question in community, it is required to add at least one tag to your questions. If you're unsure which tag to use, click on the "View All Tags" link. This link will direct you to this current article listing all available Brightspace tags.
As you start typing your tag, the predictive search will provide suggestions to help you find the right one.
You can also select “Show popular tags” so that you can access the list of most used tags. Choose the one or more tags that best describe the content of your question.
What Tags are Available in Community?
See a complete list of available tags here and select one to view all community questions that have been tagged with that topic.
📝Note: The list of tags may grow and change over time as our Brightspace Products and Tools evolve and with the collaborative input of our product partners.
Can't find the right tag?
If you're tagging your question but don't see one that fits your topic, you can always use the Brightspace Community
tag so our team can spot it!
In your post, feel free to suggest a new tag you'd like us to add - we're always looking to improve how questions are organized and discovered!
Stay on Top of Your Questions (Turn on Notifications)
Never miss a response to your discussion thread! You can enable notifications by following the steps outlined in the Notification Preferences article and be sure to check all three options to receive alerts in email or a pop up on Community.
You can also bookmark your discussion post by selecting the bookmark icon in the top-right corner. To easily revisit your bookmarked discussions, go to your profile and select Discussions > Bookmarks.
