Discussion Tags and Filtering
We've recently implemented our Tagging system into Discussions, as well as the ability to Filter Posts.
What does this mean?
Our Discussion tags help you sort conversations by tool, category, and context. This will allow Community members to better find the specific topics they are looking for in Discussions!
The Filter tool allows you to sort posts by their type (Discussion vs Question) and their Status (Answered vs Unanswered).
Where can I find this?
Select Discussions from the navigation bar. The Filter option displays before the list of Community Discussions.
How Can I Use Tags?
When asking a question in Community, be sure to 'tag' it with the associated Brightspace Tool to ensure that the right people get eyes on your question.
Customer Enablement Categorization
Inspired by You- We're making question categorization better!
Categories are the high-level organizers of your discussions in the Community, and each discussion must be placed in a Category.
This is different from a tag which allows you to mark a particular tool that you might be asking about. This categorization also allows you and subject matter experts to hop into the community to find all related questions!
Starting September 1st, the Customer Enablement discussions space will feature 5 subcategories.
These subcategories will help Community Members in specifying their needs, interests, and connecting with others in that area of shared knowledge. We want you to share and grow your expertise!
Each category features an associated description, to better highlight what to expect:
Discussions: What’s everyone talking about? 💬
We've been noticing a lot more questions coming into Community, which is pretty great! Keep them coming!
Not only are we noticing more questions coming in, but we are seeing increased response rates! From July to August, we noticed:
- A 68% increase in questions answered
- The highest number of D2L'ers responding to questions ever
Our most popular question topics are API's. Quiz, and Gradebook.
Tagging your question can really help us to connect it with the right people! Learn more about how to ask a question and how to tag your question.
What Are We Doing About It?
- Developing closer connections and collaborations with product teams. Stay tuned for a larger product focused presence in community through blogs, responding to questions, and hosting events.
- Q & A style events
We are constantly learning from you about how to get you fast and valuable answers! Keep those questions coming!
‘PIE’-lights 🥧
Quizzes – Quiz Timing Improvements featuring Synchronous Quiz | Updated
This release updates the Quiz Creation experience for instructors and learners by adding a new synchronous quiz option.
With this release, instructors can facilitate quizzes where learners take their attempts simultaneously, which is convenient for in-class sessions.
This feature implements the following PIE items: D1552, D2135, D2914, D4450, D4481, D6373, D6812, D8816, D8924, D9257, D9656.
Data Hub – LTI Launches permission is no longer required | Removed
With this release, the External Learning Tools > Download LTI Launch Data Set permission is no longer required to download the LTI Launches Brightspace Data Set. This permission has also been removed from the Roles and Permissions menu.
This feature implements the following PIE items: D6685
