About the course
This short, self-paced course helps new Brightspace users/D2L clients prepare for the beginning of the implementation of their new Brightspace instance.
The course contains:
- Brightspace terminology and definitions
- overviews of D2L teams that clients will work with during Onboarding
- lists of common tools used for different groups of learners, and
- questions about timelines, stakeholders on your team, and short/long term goals to consider to get a head start on strategic planning.
You can also earn a completion badge at the end of the course!
This course is designed for any stakeholder involved in the implementation of Brightspace at a client organization. This could be Brightspace Administrators, Project Managers, Integration/Technical experts, Teaching & Learning Program Leaders, or any other role involved in the project!
Why did we create it?
We know that starting a new project can be overwhelming, so we want to ensure clients have all the information they need to feel prepared before the start of their Brightspace Implementation. In addition to this short course, our Onboarding and Account teams will also be there for the duration of the project, ensuring strategic goals are met and questions are answered!

In this course, the New Content Experience with Learner View is used to show content created using Creator + interactive elements. A checklist with release conditions also allows extra content to appear based on the selection on the checklist. At the end of the course, complete a checklist to acknowledge your completion of content and receive an award!
