We’ve created a Brightspace Community course that is intended for any Brightspace user that is curious to learn more about Creator+. For anyone who is already a Creator+ client, this course will have special areas with additional content, training, discussions, and more.

Q: Is there a free trial run?
A: Yes. Please visit Try Brightspace FREE for 30 days for an opportunity to see, learn, and try Creator+ for yourself.
Q: Will a final edit admin doc be posted so that I can verify the recommended configs are set correctly/appropriately?
A: Yes. It will be posted here on the Community.
Q: Will there be tips and walkthroughs on the Brightspace community when Creator+ starts to roll out?
A: Yes. We have a Creator+ course on the Brightspace Community, which will have quick-start videos, self-directed training, best practices, information about new Creator+ templates, and other important information. This course will be kept up to date with Creator+ upgrades. Also please visit the online documentation
Q: Where could I find a demo on creating a flip card?
A: Our Creator+ course here on the Community’s Learning Center has a video on creating all elements, including flipcards
Product Feature/Capability Questions
Q: Does Creator+ work in the Classic View of Brightspace...or just in Lessons view?
A: It works in both.
Q: If we already have many of these stylized elements created through a prior engagement with the LCS team, are we able to add these stylized
components to the "add elements" list?
A: Custom elements (including standard elements created during custom engagements) can’t be used with the Insert Element tool or added to the list of available elements.
Q: What if we don't have elements available in our Brightspace editor?
A: If you don’t see it in your editor, please connect with your Customer Success Manager or Client Sales Executive about adding Creator+.
Q: Is there auto feedback when there is an error?
A: Yes. Feedback can be customized for any Practice.
Q: Will some of these types of questions such as Drag and Drop be available in Quiz tool as well?
A: Not right now.
Q: Are the knowledge check/practice scores captured and/or graded?
A: Not right now.
Q: Is there a way to create videos within Creator+?
A: Yes, using the Capture App you can create videos.
Q: Is there a way to view the answers that a student gives when using the Practice options?
A: Not right now.
Q: Can Creator+ practices be inserted into customized, in-house created HTML templates for Brightspace?
A: Creator+ Practices can be inserted into all content topics.
Q: Is there any version/revision control for pages?
A: Not right now.
Q: If the learners come back to the insert practice, can they see the responses previously stated?
A: Not right now.
Q: Can release conditions be applied on the Practices?
A: Not right now.
Q: What is the accuracy of the auto transcription?
A: Although automatic transcription is imperfect and can be prone to error, it tends to be 70-90% accurate. Of course, you can edit the automated
transcriptions manually to clean up anything missed by the automagic.
Q: Will Creator+ make any advances in displaying accessible math symbols and equations that can be read by screen readers?
A. Options are currently being researched.
Pricing/Packaging
Q: Will Creator+ be a part of the standard LMS package? Or will we have to purchase separately?
A: It is a separate package that can be added to Brightspace.
Q: Are there possible packages or discounts for new users or school districts making the switch to Brightspace to have this included into their Brightspace subscription?
A: Your D2L Customer Success Manager or Client Sales Executive would love to talk to you about just that
Q: Is Capture included with the price of Creator+?
A: Yes.
General Product Questions
Q: Is it open source?
A: No. Brightspace and Creator+ are not open source.
Q: How do we know if our organization has Creator+?
A: If it appears in the HTML editor. The best person to connect with is your Customer Success Manager or Client Sales Executive.
Q: Will the introduction of Creator+ limit the continued integration of other external learning tools, e.g., SCORM?
A: No. You can continue to use SCORM objects, PDFs, PPTs, or any other content files created in other software technologies.
Q: Can you export content created in Creator+ out of Brightspace?
A: Yes. Content created with elements, practices or stylized using the Content Styler can be exported as part of the course export process in your Brightspace course.
Q: They mentioned you are building more elements. What elements are on the roadmap as this may help inform the decision to purchase?
A: Please connect with your Customer Success Manager to understand the Creator+
roadmap.
Q: How easy is it to copy content developed with Creator+ to multiple client school sites.
A: Pages using Elements and Practices can be copied using the course Import / Export / Copy process. You must include the course files during the export or copy process to ensure all supplementary assets are copied as well.
Q: Can I utilize Creator+ within my own template I have applied to specific courses within my D2L environment?
A: Elements can be added to blank pages and Creator+ template pages for the time being. Practices can be added to any content topic.
Q: If I update the parent course, will those updates trickle through to the clients?
A: The content in the Elements and Practices are tied to the current org unit. Cascading changes are not available at this time.
Q: Have you already rolled out these new changes and experiences?
A: Yes. Creator+ is available now.
Q: Is this an additional tool, separate from the D2L interface like IATs?
A: Insert Element and Practices exist as tools but are accessed directly through the editor for content topics.
Q: Will Creator+ include gamification?
A: It will not include gamification at this time.
Q: Can the course be exported as SCORM package?
A: No. Brightspace doesn’t export course content as SCORM, only IMSCP- compliant zip files that can be imported into other LMSs that support that standard.
Q: When you say mobile friendly, Is there going to be a separate creator plus app?
A: No, there won’t be a separate app. Mobile friendly means that the Creator+ tools work well on mobile devices for both the creator and the
learner.
Q: Does it allow users to work offline?
A: Changes can not be made offline at this time.
Q: What languages are supported?
A: The tools and features in Creator+ will be in all supported languages that Brightspace currently supports. The Training Course will be in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese – on the Community.
