🎞️The integration of video content with our text-based help documentation
We actively use video content as a supplement to our text-based help documentation. To improve user interaction with these videos, we want to understand how and where our users are seeking video tutorials.
We also want to determine how users feel about the structure and workflows of the current videos to understand if our video resources are meeting their needs.
By gaining these insights, we can better align our content placement and format with user preferences, ultimately improving the overall user experience.
Study goals
To enhance the use of videos in our technical documentation, we have the following goals for this study:
- 📍Determine User Preferences for Video Location: Identify the most user-friendly locations for video placement to facilitate easy navigation.
- 📈Evaluate Engagement: Analyze how users interact with videos to answer their questions, assessing both the frequency and depth of engagement.
- 📊Analyze Search Options in Use: Examine the methods users employ to find videos, such as Google search, the internal search bar, and browsing through Table of Contents (TOCs).
📋️Expected Outcomes
These tests will help us identify the preferred video locations for users. Additionally, the proposed tests will provide data to help us determine if videos enable users to perform target actions more quickly and effectively compared to text-only documentation.
