Course End Date Access
Does granting special access to students with dropbox items, discussions, or quizzes allow them to complete the assignments after a course end date has passed? Or is the only option to allow a student more time to complete their coursework is extend the actual end date of the course offering temporarily?
Certificate is not being awarded
Hello
I hope you can help.
I've set up a simple course with a course completion certificate if learners meet have visited all content modules and topics (only 1 requirement).
I've ticked that 'Award hidden until earned: true'
Can you explain why the award is being generated automatically to any learners who meet this requirement? I've impersonated them and they have completed every module.
Re: Creating multiple questions with the 'Insert practice' feature
Hi Holly,
No, you cannot create more than 1 question at a time, even of the same type, when using the Insert Practice feature in Creator+. You must click Insert and then close the Insert Practice interface before you can insert another practice question. This is because each practice type has its own separate Insert Practice interface and its own separate workflow.
If you think a feature like a Save and Add New button, which saves the practice question and allows you to create another one of the same type without closing the Insert Practice interface, would streamline the Insert Practice feature, please add your suggestion to the Product Idea Exchange.
Wishing you a lovely day!

Unmarked assignments all say "emerging"
Just as the title says — all my students' future/yet to be submitted assignments in gradebook say "emerging". I haven't marked them or received submissions yet. What setting do I have wrong here? I have six courses and it's only happening in one.
Is there a way to gray out modules?
We have been using release conditions, but we still want the learners to see the other modules without being able to click on them. So is there a way to lock modules or grey out the modules?

Re: Adding Categories to Assignments
Hello @Alec.C.679
Thank you for reaching us through the Brightspace community Please Know: Add categories in the New Assignment Creation Experience. This feature is controlled by a Config variable: d2l.Tools.Activities.SetCategoriesOnEdit.
Could I kindly ask you to verify if the value for this variable has inadvertently been set to OFF?

Adding Categories to Assignments
Hi everyone!
I'm wondering what's involved with adding an 'Assignment' to a category. Since the introduction of the New Assignment Creation Experience, I haven't been able to add an Assignment to a category.
I'm following the steps in the 'Create an assignment' documentation, but I can't see the category dropdown button as advised. Has anyone else encountered this issue before, and is there a suggested workaround?
These are the options I see when editing an Assignment:
Any advice would be much appreciated, thank you!
How do you link a subject outline (specifically learning outcomes) to a subject site?
We are in the process of transitioning to Brightspace and I am one of the lucky ones involved in building (as opposed to migrating) content into subject sites. I note that Brightspace permits a linking of content and assessments to learning outcomes or standards. Our page says 'outcomes' btw. How do you enter learning outcomes to site in order to link to them? I can see outcomes but cannot see how to link because there are no learning outcomes entered into subject sites.
Thank you so far for everyone who has patiently answered my questions. Given I'm a former academic, this learning outcome one is of high interest to me.

The written response questions wasn't recorded despite indications that it had been saved
We've run into an issue where a student completed a quiz on Brightspace, and while the answers appeared to be saving in real time (as confirmed by the logs showing the character count and also noting as saved), nothing was actually saved when I went to look at student's response. This isn't the first time this has happened; it's actually the third occurrence.
Has anyone else experienced this? I'm looking for any insight on how to retrieve the responses if possible, or tips on how to avoid this in the future. Any help would be appreciated!
