Re: Bring Back Crtl+F Browser Search
Hi @christopher.houghton@stonybrook.edu
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I understand how impactful this change is, especially when working with a large number of grade items.
The behaviour you’re experiencing is related to the recent updates to the Grades tool (released February 2026), which introduced a new table structure and navigation experience. As part of this update, the page now uses a different rendering approach, which can affect how browser-based tools like Ctrl+F interact with the content.
At this time, this is expected with the updated experience and is not something that can be reverted. The change was introduced to support improvements such as:
- Addressing long-standing issues within the Grades tool
- Improving accessibility and navigation
- Aligning the Grades experience with other areas of Brightspace
You can read more about these updates here: February 2026/20.26.02 - Brightspace
I understand your concern around efficiency, especially when managing a high volume of grade items, and your feedback about navigation and search is valid. While Ctrl+F may not behave as it did previously, a few options that may help in the meantime include:
- Using the left/right navigation arrows within the Gradebook
- Using Shift + scroll (or a two-finger horizontal swipe on a trackpad) to move across columns more quickly
I’ve also shared your feedback with your account team for visibility.
Thank you again for raising this,
Carolina A.
Bulk edit in NCE?
Hello,
In the old Content, there was an option to bulk edit dates and restrictions of content; however, I don't see that option in the NCE. Is there a way to edit dates without tediously clicking on each content item?
Thanks,
Yildiz
Is there a "Delete All Modules" for the New Content Experience?
In the classic content experience, it was possible to delete all content in a course by going to the Table of Contents, clicking the disclosure triangle, and selecting "Delete All Modules".
Through searching, I could not find a way to perform the same action in the New Content Experience. The best I could find is going to each individual module, clicking the "…" button, and selecting "Delete".
Does anyone know of a way to "Delete All" when in the New Content Experience?

Can you create custom institutional calendars for different groups?
Where can I go to request functionalities for quiz questions?
Specifically the "arithmetic" quiz question type just does not have enough of a robust feature set. There seem to be a great many features that were either left out intentionally or were not thought of. I'd like to know where I can go to both complain about the lack of features and also make requests for them to be added.

Re: Gradebook horizontal scroll bar
I agree that the arrows are NOT an improvement. The horizontal scroll bar being available at any point is much better.

Re: Gradebook horizontal scroll bar
Using the L and R arrows skips over several columns with a single click. Please de-update and bring back the horizontal scroll bar wherever we are on the Grades page. Not even the pilgrims had this issue (attempt at comic relief). Seriously though, please de-update.

Gradebook horizontal scroll bar
Hello! An instructor who used Chrome browser told me the scrollbar which used to appear at the bottom of the screen no matter where were looking now ONLY appears at the bottom of the gradebook.
I can't share more specific images for confidentiality reasons, but in the past, no matter where you were on the gradebook page, the scrollbar would always appear.
Can someone advise if this is an update, a setting that got pushed out, and/or if this is a setting we can adjust on our side?
It now means if an instructor wants to view looking at a specific grade item, they can only view 10 students at a time, have to scroll to the bottom of the page, use the horizontal scroll bar to find what they hope is (the grade name is no longer showing) and scroll up.
In the meantime, I've suggested the instructor zoom out to view her grade items and only look at 10 students per page, but this change is a hurdle for instructors who are viewing or inputting grades.
