Adding Categories to Assignments

Question

Hi everyone!

I'm wondering what's involved with adding an 'Assignment' to a category. Since the introduction of the New Assignment Creation Experience, I haven't been able to add an Assignment to a category.

I'm following the steps in the 'Create an assignment' documentation, but I can't see the category dropdown button as advised. Has anyone else encountered this issue before, and is there a suggested workaround?

Thanks for such a quick reply! That's solved the issue I was experiencing 🙌

The config variable was empty, and having a look at the change history, it has never been edited by anyone in our instance. I'm guessing this was added when the New Assignment Creation Experience was implemented and that the default setting was off.

Thank you for reaching us through the Brightspace community Please Know: Add categories in the New Assignment Creation Experience. This feature is controlled by a Config variable: d2l.Tools.Activities.SetCategoriesOnEdit.

Could I kindly ask you to verify if the value for this variable has inadvertently been set to OFF?
