Re: How to edit the page templates
Hello Kate,
If you go to Admin Tools (the gear icon), you should be able to find a tool called 'Public Files' or 'Shared Files'/'Organization Files'.
In either of these tools, a file called HTML-Template-Library should exist. Inside the folder, you will find the HTML-Templates-V5 folder > css > custom.css
Kindly let me know if that helps or if you need further guidance.

Re: Looking for API calls for quiz results displays
Thank you for the reply. I am mainly interested in the possibility of an API solution to the problem. I don't mind opening a ticket or doing it manually, but a programmatic solution would be ideal in case I run into a similar issue down the road.
Can assignments be marked as complete or incomplete
If I want to mark an assignment as complete or incomplete instead of giving it a grade, how do I do that?
Re: Short answer question with a number range that doesn't just have whole numbers
Hi Sue,
I hope you are having a great start to your week! Thank you for reaching out to Community with your question regarding how to set up short answer questions that accept numeric ranges, including decimal values, rather than just whole numbers.
As you may know, answers in Short Answer Questions are evaluated using one of the following comparison methods:
- Text
- Case-Sensitive Text
- Regular Expression
To accommodate a range of numeric answers—such as 5 to 12—you will need to use the Regular Expression option. Regular expressions are sequences of characters that define a search pattern, allowing the system to recognize multiple valid inputs, including decimals where applicable.
For example, if you want to accept whole numbers from 5 to 12, you could use [5-9]|1[0-2].
However, to include decimal values such as 9.5, your regular expression must allow optional decimal points and digits. Ex: ^(5(.\d+)?|6(.\d+)?|7(.\d+)?|8(.\d+)?|9(.\d+)?|10(.\d+)?|11(.\d+)?|12(.0*)?)$ This expression matches whole numbers from 5 to 12, as well as decimals like 5.1, 9.5, and 12.0, but excludes values above 12.
For a numeric range of 1000–1400 (including decimals), you might use something like:
- ^(1000|100[1-9]|10[1-9][0-9]|11[0-9][0-9]|12[0-9][0-9]|13[0-9][0-9]|1400)(.\d+)?$
If you find that the system is marking some answers as incorrect, it may be necessary to review and revise your regular expression to ensure that it correctly includes the entire required range. Note: [1000-1400] is interpreted as "match a single character that is 1, 0, -, 4, or 0" (duplicates ignored), not numbers from 1000 to 1400.
For additional guidance on crafting regular expressions, you might find this cheat sheet helpful: Regular Expressions Cheat Sheet
Please let us know if you have any further questions, and we would be happy to provide clarification.

Re: Disabling communication when publishing
Hello @Sue.S.4,
Thanks for reaching out via the Brightspace Community!
Super Admins can set your organization’s default notification settings by navigating to Admin Gear > Notifications. Please note that these settings will only apply to new users and will not affect existing users.
If you would like to update the notification options for current users or specific roles, you can do so through the Brightspace API. For your convenience, there is a Postman collection to help non-technical administrators confidently perform this action. To learn more about Postman, please visit the Brightspace Community.
I have attached the community article:

Re: concerns re PIE migration
Hi @Mike.B.559
@Tommy.O.141 is out of office today but wanted to get a note back over to you so I'm posting here on his behalf to your last post.
Those are great call outs Mike, we would not want valuable contributions such as suggested workarounds to be lost if they could still be valuable to community users. Your new discussion Conversations about BrightSpace Quizzes is a great way to maintain that community and keep those valuable conversations going. We will keep this in mind when we are at the PIE migration phase.
At FUSION we will be sharing the new PIE guidelines and all the improvements being made to the PIE experience. Our Product team have robust criteria and various drivers they consider when planning for changes to any Brightspace tools. I can assure you that individual PIE submissions are not reviewed in isolation.
The enhanced PIE experience will still be hosted on the same 3rd party tool and will have a similar look and feel.
We look forward to meeting you at FUSON, Mike, and will be happy to get your thoughts on all the enhances we’ll be sharing at FUSION!
Re: Community Feedback🗨️
The quicklink on the landing page to the Ideas Exchange is not accurate. The proper link can be found on the Product Roadmap page. There isn't a SSO integration with the Brightidea platform, maybe some messaging that users need to access the platform through the Brightspace portal.
