If I want to mark an assignment as complete or incomplete instead of giving it a grade, how do I do that?

Thankyou for reaching out to the Brightspace Community. You can try the following options:
1.Try creating a custom grade scheme Complete/Incomplete and assign specific values. Use this scheme to create new grade item and link to assignment
2.
- Create a new assignment inside of the Assignment Tool.
- Within Submission & Completion, under Submission Type select Observed in Person.
- You can choose from the different "Marked as completed" options, for this particular case, I was referring to the "Manually by learners" option.
- Your students will see this along-side the instructions of the assignment if there are any. In red would be their view if they have already marked it as completed.
- From your view, when you click the context arrow next to an assignment.
- Then click View Submissions.
- You will have the option to select students on the left and mark them as complete/incomplete accordingly. You will see the date they marked themselves as complete as well.
3. Using API call to mark the assignment topic as completed manually for a specific user:
