Is there a way to set up "dynamic" conditions?

Hi D2L Community,

Was wondering - Is it possible to set up Brightspace such that learners are able to self-enrol into a course at anytime, but they have to finish the course activities within 7 days from their enrolment date?

Is it possible with API automation?

Hi @Yi Yan.L.782,

Yes, you can set up an Intelligent agent to enrol users in a group by configuring the condition type Date of Enrolment in Current Org Unit to 7 days.

You can then enable Change user enrollment and select the enrollment action Enrol user in a course. Next, search for the appropriate group and assign the desired role.

Once users are enrolled in this group, you can configure a release condition in the Content area so that only members of a specific group can access the content. This approach ensures that after users have been enrolled for 7 days, they are automatically moved to a different group that no longer has access to the content.

Thanks Brielle for the suggestion. Would it be possible to use IAs to directly impact a user's accessibility to course content based on enrolment date? We'd like to keep the user enrolment.

Can you advise - Can IAs be used to enrol users into a group after 7 days? If yes, I guess we could tag release conditions to that group.

Appreciate your help with my questions.

Hi! I think you could manage this easily enough using Discover and Intelligent Agents.

Basically, once you list your course for self-enrollment, you would set up an IA that looks at the user's enrollment date and unenrolls them after 7 days. Release Condition would be "Date of enrollment in current org unit" > 7 and Action would be "Change user enrollments when the criteria are satisfied."
