Restrictions - Sections - Display configurations
Hello D2L community,
We created a course but now we want to know how to more effectively restrict our audience to access certain content. We need to grade each user individually, but we have different modules inside the course (3) with scorm objects from which we take grades for quizzes.
However, we also have a guide document that should be available for every user.
I know we can create either sections or groups. However, if we create sections in the course, will all sections see the content in the course shell (like announcements, or guide document) or they cannot be released to all?
What is the best practice if we have a large amount of people? Is enrollment easer in this case for sections or groups?
I still cannot understand the exact difference between them.

Yes all the sections will see the announcements or content as long as those items are not restricted by release conditions.

Sections are definitely more effective for large enrollments as they help organizing assistants, assignments, and grades. You can learn more about the difference between Groups and Sections here:
