Instructor notifications for new assignment, quiz, and discussion submissions

We recently moved to a new standardized course homepage that does not include the Updates widget.

One of our instructors relied on that widget to see when students had submitted assignments, quizzes, or discussion posts. Without it, she is wondering whether there is another way for instructors to easily see new submissions across these tools without checking Assignments, Quizzes, and Discussions individually.

Are there any other notification options, widgets, or workflows available in Brightspace that would provide instructors with a similar overview of new student activity?

We do not currently have Quick Eval enabled, so I’m particularly interested in any other options that may be available.

I would absolutely recommend Quick Eval, but another option would be to enable the Updates settings for the My Courses widget.

From your system homepage, select the drop down menu at the top of the My Courses widget, and select Customize this widget. At the bottom you can select which items you'd like to see in the course tiles:
