Course Tool vs Course Management Tool, arethey the same?

Our organization has been using Brightspace, for about 8 months and when we received our training, there was no training on teh COurse Tool, and looking back at screen shots I took, it did not seem to be a thing at the time. I have been playing around with it after noticing its addition to the update in late 2025, and find that it offers very similar functionality to the Course management tool. Can anyone confirm if the courses tool is just an updated version of the course management tool? Or, is one tool supposed to be used for one set of cuntions, and the other for another? Documentation I used to find on the course management tool no redirects to the courses tool also. If the courses tool is a replacement, is the course management tool going to be removed?

The new Courses tool does indeed have similar functionality to the Course Management tool.
Courses was rolled out in early 2025, and the current February 2026 preview release notes shows the legacy Course Management tool as no longer being available as of the February release.

Some further information regarding the transition from Course Management to Courses is also available HERE.
Once your institution receives its February release, you should no longer see the Course Management tool available within admin tools.
