Is it possible to copy the Single Profile Widget from course to course?

Hi. We are using Classic Content. When we copy an entire course, we noticed that the Single profile widget does not copy into the course. Also, when we go to Import/Export Copy Components, we do not see an option to copy this individual component either. Our instructors have had to re-set it up for each course. (Note: we also have our widgets locked down so faculty cannot change them.)

Is this just a function of the widget - that you can't copy it from course to course and have to re-set it up for each course? Or is there a way to copy it and not have to re-set it up each time?

Lynn, we were initially excited to use that widget, but when we discovered that it neither pulled data automatically from the system-wide profile, nor was is able to be copied between sites, we removed it from our homepages.

Instead we added a pre-formatted module called Instructor Info that is automatically included in each site.

Hello @Lynn.B.961, the Single Profile Widget is  part of the Homepage Widget Expansion Pack and is designed for individual customization within each course. Currently, there isn't a direct method to copy this widget's configuration from one course to another. Instructors typically need to set it up manually for each course. However, you can create a custom widget with similar content and add it to your course homepage. This custom widget can then be copied and reused across multiple courses.
