no 'start quiz' button

a student has javascript enabled, reset their browser to factory defaults but is not getting the 'start quiz' button, does anyone have any advice/troubleshooting tips? thank you!

    The absence of a start quiz button for a student could be indicative of the student either

    • Has already made the maximum attempt allowed on the quiz and thus not able to retake the quiz again
    • The time window in which the quiz was allowed for the student has already elapsed

    I would recommend first checking the quiz attempts for the student, in order to do this

    The second option would be to check for the quiz start/end availability times, in order to do this

    • Go to the quiz tool
    • Click on the dropdown arrow of the designated quiz shell, followed by the edit button
    • Click on the availability and Dates tab, and ensure the timeframe (Start/End dates) is set to one where the student can make an attempt on the quiz
