Self enrolment key?
Does BrightSpace have a self enrolment key option? I have a course called Language Placement Tests. Inside it, I have groups called Italian, Japanese, and Spanish. I want to give students a link and a code that will allow them to self-enrol in a course and be placed directly into one of the existing groups. I know I can do it by having students self-enrol in the course then manually join a group…but I want the system to automatically place them in the appropriate group.

Discover tool can be used to allow the students to self-enroll in courses. Discover allows learners to search for active courses by entering terms that match course titles and descriptions. Only courses that allow self-enrollment (configured by course administrators or instructors) appear in the search results.
Once the students are enrolled in the following courses using discover tool (Self-enrollment), administrators or instructors can set-up a self enrollment group which allows the learners to self enroll in desired groups.
Unfortunately it's not possible to automatically place them in the appropriate group after self enrollment in courses.
Currently, we do not have this functionality; however, we always appreciate customer feedback and encourage you to submit an item in our Product Idea Exchange describing the use case and suggestions.

Approval work-flow for Discover enrollment (D5979)Also, the "Discover – Approve or decline course self-enrollment requests" section of this document shows how requests to enroll can be manually approved...but this could also become a major time sink.
There are limits to the current process. What I would like to be able to do is have a self-enrolment course that does not show up on the Discover tab. Someplace I could send people to, but that they could not easily access on their own.
