Hello, everyone. This is for anyone using Brightspace with McGraw-Hill's SIMnet program. Previously, users were able to get into SIMnet directly from a link in Brightspace. But since SIMnet was reconfigured recently, that is no longer the case. You can still access assignments in SIMnet through a link in Brightspace, but just going to the opening dashboard in SIMnet from a "generic" link in Brightspace is no longer available. I can give my students the direct URL so they can get into SIMnet, but I would really like to be able to provide a link between Brightspace and SIMnet so they can get into SIMnet and then go to the library to read their course eBooks (aka SIMbooks in SIMnet terminology). I have consulted with several people connected to SIMnet, but apart from having to click an assignment link in Brightspace, there doesn't appear to be any way to go from Brightspace to SIMnet directly. I really don't want to create the chapter readings in the SIMbooks as assignments so a workable link is available in Brightspace. I would rather have the students just have access to the SIMnet library, so they can click on the SIMbook images and go to the appropriate chapters to read the assignment. So… first, is this a problem just with Brightspace and SIMnet, or is the same issue presented using other programs such as Canvas? Second, has anybody developed a workaround so that students can go directly from Brightspace into SIMnet without having to click on an assignment link?
