Learning Outcomes and External Learning tools

Hi. Is there any way to automatically associate learning outcomes with completion of an External Learning Tools? We use FeedbackFruits and have grades associated with these activities. The grade achieved is the evidence the learning outcome has been met but I cannot find a way to associate a learning outcome with a grade item. Adding the learning outcome to the activity does not seem to do anything and manually assigning that an outcome has been meet for 1000+ students is not practical.

    Thank you for reaching out to Brightspace Community today. My name is Piero, I am a Product Support Analyst and I will assist you with your question.

    I am sorry that, currently, it's not possible to associate Learning Outcomes with Grade Items (as a proxy to determine the completion of an activity of an External Learning Tools). Our dev team has planned this functionality for a future release, but additional information is not yet available.

    It is possible, however, to align Learning Outcomes with Rubrics, in case this is a viable alternative to you. This Community article has more information on what can and can't currently be associated with Learning Outcomes.

    Thank you for your reply. Do you have a rough estimate of when this planned functionality might be available? i.e. later this year, next year, five years? Before or after the Competency tool is retired?

    Unfortunately aligning to a Brightspace rubric for use with an external learning tool assessment activity like FeedbackFruits that has its own in-built rubrics is not a viable solution. It would require extra work from teachers and confuse learners who would need to look in two different places for peer and teacher feedback. This significantly hampers our ability to move forward with the D2L Learning Objectives tool.

    Unfortunately, we do not have an estimate for when this planned functionality might become available.

    There is a feature request in the Product Idea Exchange that aligns with your needs. Its status is “In Review”, and you can find it here:
