Link to multiple separate grade items
Is there a way to have an assignment link to multiple separate grade items? For example, I'd like to be able to assess an assignment using a rubric that has multiple criteria groups, such as Thinking and Application, and then have those go in as two different grade items.

Hello @Erin.M.4839, welcome to Brightspace Community! I have referred to this discussion and it says that currently, grade items can only be attached to a single rubric or activity (and vice versa). But this is indeed a fantastic suggestion and it has been raised in our Products Ideas Exchange! If you have not signed up yet, here's how you can sign up .
And here are two ideas you can upvote that align with your question:
Multiple Grade Items for Dropbox Submission
Multiple Grade Items per Assignment submission

@Erin.M.4839 It's always a one-to-one association between activities and grade items. You can add multiple rubrics to an assignment, but only one can be used to populate the overall grade (the scoring rubric). So you could grade one rubric and publish grades to the grade book, then change the scoring rubric to the second one, change the association to a new grade item, grade the second rubric, and publish grades to the second grade item. However, that might get a little confusing since the assignment itself will only retain the last overall grade and written feedback you entered (even though both will be in the grade book in separate grade items).
You could also just create two assignments - one that students submit to, and another that is set to on paper submission. That way you can still use two rubrics for grading and have two separate grade items in the gradebook, and they will always be separate with no risk of changing grades or feedback. You'll just need to make sure you're giving the correct score to the correct student for the second assignment that won't have any submissions in D2L.

Thank you so much for your guidance @Krizzy.S.9720 ! In the PIE, one of those ideas is listed as "released". Does that mean the functionality already exists? I couldn't find a way to upvote it, so I thought that might be the reason. If that's the case, does that mean we just need to wait for a system update?
Thanks again!

Hello @Erin.M.4839, you are absolutely right! It is now possible to assign multiple grade items to an assignment, but only Learning outcomes are being used.
