Gradebook - manual override

Is there a way to enter grades manually into the gradebook that overrides any current and future publisher paired assignment synchs?
Ex: A student cheats and I enter a zero in D2L gradebook for the assignment; however, due to the synching from the publisher - my zero disappears and the student grade returns.
We could perform a Manual grade in our prior LMS.
