There is a Notification subscription option that you must select in order to be notified of a mention, depending on your environment settings it may not be enabled by default.
You can change your notifications settings using Profile Name > Notifications and enable the Instant Notification desired.
You could also receive push notification from @Mentions if subscribed within the Pulse app

Re: full quiz credit for any complete attempt
@John.T.26 In addition to what Johnny suggested, if there are any multiple choice questions in the quiz, you can make it mandatory (but not bonus) and add custom weights of 100% to all the answer choices. This way they can't submit the quiz without answering it, they will get the question right no matter what response they choose, and they will get the 1 point for the the quiz even if they get every other question wrong on the attempt.

Re: Where does "Course Section Code" live within the Analytics Builder Datasets?
@Eric.K.464 It should still be that field since that's the only code tied to org units. If the org unit type is section, then it's a section code. If the type is course offering, then it's a course offering code, etc. You can test this by navigating to a section within a course (Course Admin - Sections - click on a section name) and you'll see the Section Code on that page.
The URL to that page should include both ou and groupId at the end, such as: https://yourd2l.edu/d2l/lms/group/group_edit.d2l?ou=123456&groupId=654321
ou is the course offering OrgUnitId and the groupId is actually the section OrgUnitId in the Organizational Units data set.
