Question library
I have an instructor who wants to print out her question library. Is there a way to do that without it being 200 pages long?
RestAPI Queries on Courses Possible?
Howdy folks!
I'm starting to take a deeper dive into pulling data with REST and am starting to tackle a few items that would be easier to resolve with a quick query over doing some data combinations from DataHub.
Is it possible to use something like the below to return all courses for a specific semester?
{{BrightspaceDomain}}/d2l/api/lp/{{lpversion}}/courses/?Semester.Identifier=(semester code here)
I've tried several variations to pull back based on the Name, Code, and Start/End dates but keep bumping into a { Errors: [ {Message: "No scopes defined for specified requests."} ] } message. Running a flat GET with the OrgUnitId returns everything about a specific course no problem, so I don't think it's the scopes in my token causing me an issue. I'm suspecting I've got a syntax issue going on but I'm just not seeing it.
Thanks!

Re: Announcement Notifications
Hi @amiller@sunysullivan.edu ,
Thanks for connecting with the Brightspace Community with your question.
I am guessing you are correct in this case! It's likely that the learners need to edit their notification preferences to ensure they are receiving the intended communication reminders. The documentation that I have linked within this thread is intended specifically for learners and includes a short video for how they can do this.
Hoping this is helpful and we look forward to hearing from you again😀

Re: What does it mean to have 'sprout' designation?
Hi @Marv.F.413
your designation provides an indicator of how you engage with the D2L Brightspace Community.
As you post more questions, answers, attend more events etc. your rank increases.
We're looking at some neat ways to tie your rank to other kinds of recognition too!
you can find out more about all Community Ranks in our article on gamification in Community:
Re: Checklists always visible under Course Tools>
Hello @akirby@pennhighlands.edu,
I wanted to contribute two additional alternatives to this discussion that may fit your needs more specifically:
- If the expectation is always for students to be accessing these checklists as part of their navigation of the Content tool, either your instructor or an administrator from your institution may be able to Customize the Navbar of the course in order to remove the "Checklist" tool from the "Course Tools" Link Group.
- From the course, you may navigate to "Course Admin" and then "Navigation & Themes".
- Under "Custom Links", they may have the option to modify existing Link Groups, or create a new one based on permissions.
- If you would like for the Checklist tool to stay available via the Navbar, but enforce that specific conditions need to be met before students are able to view the Checklist. You may want to consider adding a Release Condition to the Checklist itself.
- For example, a Release condition of "Content - visited content topic", would allow you to select a topic which students need to visit in order for the Checklist to become visible.
- Please note that the Checklist would be entirely hidden from students until the chosen Release Condition is completed.
I hope this proves to be useful!

Alt Text for Flashcards (Creator+ Element)
After inserting all images and noting most as decorative, on accessibility check, I did not see the "Decorative" box checked. So I decided to add descriptions. When editing the images on flashcards, if flashcards were all in one row, editing one image name changed the name of the others if I also checked "image is decorative." Do I need to uncheck that box for it to be unique? Alternately, if flashcards are in a row, does that mean they should be all checked as decorative, with no additional description?
Re: What does importing a CSV file with grades into D2L look like?
Hello @Jeff.Y.418,
A good resource for setting up your grade book can be found here
Without specific details on the content of the CSV file you are trying to import it's difficult to suggest the next steps.
Some suggestions:
Use the Grades sample file link, download it, add some basic data, and import it into a test course.
Did it work as expected?
What are the differences between your CSV and the sample CSV file?
What fields are missing/absent?
If comparisons don't offer some solutions, feel free to open a Support Case with the attached file, and the team can take a look.
I hope this helps!
