Checking when student was admitted to Brightspace?
Dear community,
I am trying to figure out how to confirm the date a student was added to my course Brightspace. I do not admit students manually, when someone is on the waiting list and there is a free spot, students get automatically added. The question here is how to check when they first got added, and not when their last log-in was.
Thank you very much!
Brightspace activity evaluation pages not loading properly in new tabs
For the sake of speed and efficiency while grading, I would like to be able to open multiple "Activity Evaluation" pages in separate tabs. When I try to do this, however, the pages do not load properly. Here is an example what an improperly loaded page looks like:
The problem seems to occur only when the page is not visible while loading. If I refresh the improperly loaded page while the tab is active and in focus, it loads properly.
Comparing the browser console log while the tab is active vs. inactive, I see a lot of these when the page loads while not visible:
Uncaught (in promise) Error: token was not provided to controller
Is this intended behavior? If not, is there anything I can do to help ensure that pages will load properly? If not, can someone please explain exactly what is causing this behavior so I can find a solution on my own?
Quiz - restrict by question
Is there a way that we can have the ability to restrict a quiz question to a specific user?
Setting a Navbar for All New Courses While Keeping the Current Navbar for Old Courses
Some notes:
1. We import the courses through IPSIS using our Colleague Integration. We see there is a setting for copying content from an existing org unit. We thought we could use this to set up a "Master Course" system in Brightspace. Have the course we are copying have the navbar we want, then run a bulk job in ELP, which would set all of the courses to the correct navbar. However, there doesn't seem to be a way we found to specify a course to copy. Are we missing something?
2. We tried using "Copy Course Components" on our test environment. This is not an ideal solution, but it would be good as establishing a baseline and seeing if copying the course components copied the navbar over. This did work, but is there a way to do this on a mass scale (like a semester by semester basis)? I know about the bulk configuration tool, but would that work with our Ellucian integration? And would we have to list all of the courses that we would like to copy in the CSV file?
3. While we can get the navbar to appear as an option for instructors, we would like it so that it is automatically set to this navbar. We can provide the navbar to all of the fall courses, but the trick would be to have it auto selected, and changed if they wanted.
Re: Email to Instructor Widget
Hi @Jangchu.T.508! Although there's no clickable email link option, you can:
- Create a custom widget with the contact information and add it to the course offering/org unit homepage.
- Create an Announcement with contact information and pin it to the top of the Announcement widget.
I also found a corresponding PIE (Product idea Exchange) item, which you can upvote to further support your idea:

A new version of the Fixed Issues List has been published.
Re: Is there a way to give access to submissions in an assignment to all students?
Hi @Inge.S.684 . If you mean that all students in a course should be able to see each others submissions, then the answer is no. Without knowing your use case, I can guess to recommend using the Discussions tool as an alternative; it allows file attachments, can be assessed by the instructor, and can be viewed by all.
Re: Content area infinite scroll/"load more" button
I have the same question (using Classic Content). Changing the Content Arrangement doesn't get rid of 'Load more' in the content area.
Thanks
Andrea
Re: Content area infinite scroll/"load more" button
Same issue. "Load more" stinks. Really need infinite scroll. Is this another proposed feature, or is there a solution now? Thanks!
