@Briar.D.2479 I think creating Assignments would work for this. For the event attendance, you could create assignments with the submission type Observed in Person and set the completion to Automatically on evaluation. That way you can add points for the scholars who attended, but they don't need to submit anything.

The ability to automatically grade student attendance by integrating the Attendance Registers should have been implemented initially. Automating the grading process for attendance would streamline operations and improve efficiency.

Feature request: Text Editor: Highlighter <mark></mark>

I've noticed that the default text editor is missing a highlight function, instead support suggested diving into the HTML and adding <mark style="background-color: green;">…

Would be really, really nice to have the standard highlighter available in the text editors — great way to mark up a students uploaded text (there is a highlighter in the online PDF form, alas, I have not yet figured out how to change the colour) — I often highlighted in green and yellow to better help students visualize what was good and what might need revision.

Issues with Cursor within D2L

This is such a weird problem, but when I insert feedback within the assignment itself by adding a comment, the cursor moves back to the beginning of the sentence. For example, if I start typing "Missing…," as soon as I type the "M," before I move on to the "i," the cursor moves back to the space before "M." I don't even know if I am explaining it correctly. Is anyone else having this problem? It's happening to me on multiple computers, so I know it's a me problem or a D2L and me problem.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I'm an art professor and frequently I have students submit many images per module. Right now the system displays them as links and I have to click on each one to view it or download them locally to view them. This is extremely arduous with large classes submitting multiple images per student. Is there any way to display the images in-line in the submissions? Images should really just be displayed in a stack when looking at assignment submissions. Many of my colleagues have opted to stop using D2L for this reason. Thanks!

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We have implemented the enhancements you suggested:

1. The header row on the Fixed Issues embedded workbook is now frozen, allowing it to remain visible while scrolling through the data.

2. We've added a tip in the callout boxes to guide users on how to utilize the filter and sort functions on the headers for more efficient navigation.

Course Publisher and Notifications

I am utilizing course publisher from Canvas to D2L. Students who are enrolled in courses using this process are not able to receive notifications from D2L. They do not even have the "Notifications" option in the menu when they click on thier name in D2L. Is there a way to fix this? Students need to receive notifications when announcements are posted to their courses. Thanks!

Grading is very slow in Brightspace

Why is grading so cumbersome and slow in D2L? Why do I have to click on the submitted document, then wait for it to appear, provide my feedback, and then click "publish", wait for it to publish, then click the arrow button to go to the next student? That's 3 clicks and waiting 3 times that greatly slows down my ability to grade quickly online.

Why don't the documents automatically appear when the grading view pops up, then there's 1 click to submit grades or better yet, why can't i just hit the enter key, and then the next student's submission automatically appears without me having to click next?

Is there a better, faster, more stream-lined way to grade in Brightspace? If so, please tell me.
