Re: Tracking students' quiz progress by referring to the orange notifications on the Grades page?
Hi @Nikhil.P.90
It seems like the red dot is back, however my instructors are reporting they used to be able to click the red dot, and view almost in real time the student completing the quiz. The same as if you were to go Quiz > Grades > Search feature to track the students' quiz progress.
Is that the expected behaviour?
Re: The display box now is too small to view and choose any questions from the Question library.
@Simran.C.1014 That might be an issue with your browser. Try to zoom out (Ctrl or Cmd + minus keys) or use a different browser.
Assignment tool moves page numbers in heading to left
Viewing a students submission on Brightspace shows the page number on the left and when you download the same submission and open it in MS Word the page number is on the right.
APA formatting states the page numbers should be on the right, so points would be deducted if only viewing the submission on Brightspace. I would like to grade on Brightspace with the rubrics and annotation tools.
Is there a way to prevent Brightspace from converting the page numbers to the left side?
Re: What role permissions are needed to prevent the "Not Authorized" API response?
It's hard in this forum to know what background information people here know and what they don't. Rather than try to explain to you what "deprecated" means, I was trying to explain to you the support lifecycle that we use to manage our APIs in Brightspace. For historical reasons (in our past, we had many different release versions of Brightspace deployed simultaneously across many clients; presently, we use a continuous release model to keep everyone on the same release version), Brightspace had the need to support a variety of API versions at once.
We built our lifecycle for our APIs to provide a version boundary when new features or changes appeared so that client applications could have a measuring point for determining when the Brightspace instance they were talking to at the moment supported those features or not.
We also have an aversion to breaking client applications and we know that our clients and partners aren't always in the position to uniformly update their code so everyone is always using a recent version of an API.
Our decision to support multiple versions of our APIs at once has lead to the present day where we have this long tail of APIs available. We fully support the most recent API versions; currently, for the lp product component, we fully support versions 1.43 through to 1.48 in market. We offer non-priority support to API versions 1.35 through 1.42 in lp. We don't explicitly offer any support for LP API versions older than 1.35; however, our practice of not wanting to break existing integrations and wanting to give our partners and clients as much time as possible to adapt their code has lead to us historically still offering even the "obsolete" versions of our APIs (for lp that's version 1.34 and older).
Every year, with the January release of Brightspace, we roll forward the support windows for our APIs: as of the 20.25.1 release, only the versions 1.46 and forward for lp will be fully supported; versions 1.43 through 1.45 will be partially supported, and versions older than 1.43 will not be explicitly supported.
I hope this helps make the picture clearer for you.
Re: What role permissions are needed to prevent the "Not Authorized" API response?
Hello @Mateen.A.4093, Current most recent fully supported LP API version is 1.48; oldest fully supported is 1.43.
I would also agree with @Chris.S.534 answer!

Support for Client Credential Grant for API Access
Currently, I understand that only the authorization grant flow is supported. In my situation, there is no user or browser involved, and I need server-to-server communication. Therefore, the authorization grant flow is not ideal.
As a workaround, I've created an application whose sole purpose is to allow me to manually log in to obtain the refresh token. This refresh token is then used by my main application to get an access token for server-to-server communication. The process involves regularly using the refresh token to get a new access token and refresh token, ensuring continuous valid access.
However, this process is quite fragile. If anything goes wrong with the refresh token exchange, a manual process is required to obtain a new refresh token. This could all be avoided if the client credential grant was supported, simplifying server-to-server communication.
Is there any plan to support the client credential grant flow in the future? Any information or guidance on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Re: How to send a certificate automatically to a supervisor/instructor/admin?
Do you have a link to how to do this? I was trying to figure it out but wasn't able to get there. I would also like to send the certificate to the admin along with the completion.
Re: How to send a certificate automatically to a supervisor/instructor/admin?
@Crystal.Woods8017 Greetings! I was wondering if you have figured out a way to do this. We are wanting to do the same thing - provide a completion certificate to various folks who need it upon a student's successful completion of a course. I saw the response to you about an IA email, and we already have that set up, but it is the addition of the certificate file to the IA that we are interested in. Thanks!
Re: Brightspace Data Sets Updates
If you don't have a DBMS you can use, something you can do to more easily combine large datasets is to import them into MS Access (or the OpenOffice analog). You are then able to easily join the tables they create.
However, if you plan on doing this often or you plan on trying to create a historical record longer than the BDS retention policy, you should probably consider using something more robust. There are quite a few open source dbms's that scale better than Access. However, using Acces should, at least, provide a short term solution as well as act as a proof of concept for a larger plan (should you decide to go that way).
Re: Can a super admin disable the "Import from file" option for creating in-course Learning Outcomes?
Hi Mayra!
Thank you for reaching out to us with your question about Managing Outcomes.
Currently, there are no permissions to limit the 'Import a File' feature specifically under Outcomes.
Please let us know if you have any follow-up questions.
Kind Regards,
