We are excited to announce that we plan to rename Programs to Outcome Sets in the July 2025/20.25.07 release.
What is changing?
We are renaming Programs to Outcome Sets across Brightspace to adopt a more widely understood term. This change applies to both Brightspace Core and Achievement+.
Why the change?
For corporate administrators
The term Programs has been used to group learning outcomes for various departmental training goals. However, we recognize the need for a more general and familiar term that supports a broader range of learning objectives. By renaming Programs to Outcome Sets, we aim to offer a more intuitive and flexible framework for creating and managing learning outcomes.
For higher education program administrators
In higher education, Programs has also been a familiar term. As we expand the capabilities of Learning Outcomes in Brightspace, we want the terminology to be inclusive and applicable to a wider range of uses, including institutional-level learning outcomes. Outcome Sets better reflects these diverse applications and enhances usability across educational segments.
Impact on users
Initially, Programs was a term geared toward higher education customers. As we continue developing Learning Outcomes in Brightspace, we are updating the terminology to be more inclusive and user-friendly across multiple segments. This change will help you better understand and use Learning Outcomes features in Brightspace.
A notification will appear in Brightspace to inform you of the change. You can dismiss this message when you're ready.
