This article describes how D2L reviews and triages PIE items.
So, I have submitted an Idea…. What’s next?
Simplified PIE Workflow
Your Idea will initially be reviewed by a triage team to ensure that your Idea is clear, all required information has been completed, it is not a duplicate, and PIE guidelines have been followed. At this point, your Idea will not be visible to other customers. If there are any questions on your Idea, it will be returned to you with detailed reasons, and you will be able to correct and resubmit.
The triage team will then assign your Idea to the Product Management team for additional review. The assigned Product Manager will further review your idea and determine a status. This review will be completed in a timely manner. Once a status has been assigned by the Product Manager, your Idea will be visible to other customers in PIE and open to likes and commenting from others.
Likes are important signals of demand for new features but are not the only criteria considered when determining candidates for our Product Roadmap. There are multiple factors used to determine candidates for our roadmap including complexity and time to implement, strategic areas of focus, benefit to all types of customers and more. As noted above, not all good Ideas will become features in a future version of a D2L product. It’s our job to tell you when we cannot progress with an Idea and help you understand why so that you can find another path forward.
D2L is dedicated to transparency. Product Managers may share comments, offer workarounds, or provide updates in the comments. All comments will be viewable on your Idea so you will be informed and up to date on your Idea throughout its lifecycle through email and in app notifications.
After the initial review process, D2L Product Managers will continue to review open Ideas every 6 months which corresponds with our roadmap planning cycle.
