Release Notes Highlights
Highlights from the November release:
- Announcements: Gives users the ability to copy announcements to other courses when the new permission Announcements > Copy to Other Courses is enabled for the user role.
- Data Hub: Three new Brightspace Data Sets (BDS) to increase the visibility of audio-video content in Media Library. Administrators can use this data to monitor the content that their organization is uploading and storing in Media Library and analyze how that content is being used.
- Quizzes: Administrators have the option to enable a deduction setting in Quizzing. When enabled, instructors can set a quiz to deduct a percentage of a question’s point value for incorrect answers.

Sinclair Community College identified a significant attainment gap between online and in-person learners. To provide better support for online courses, the college developed Coaching to Complete, an innovative coaching program powered by D2L Brightspace. As a direct result, the college has helped thousands of students improve their grades and increase motivation.

Building a Pipeline of Tech Talent with Online Learning
VMware’s virtualization software is an essential component of contemporary enterprise IT infrastructure. The company is committed to ensuring that its customers have access to engineers who are knowledgeable about VMware technology. To prepare a new generation of IT professionals with the necessary skills, VMware collaborated with D2L to support VMware IT Academy. This academy has already provided training to over 100,000 students across 1,500 academic institutions in more than 70 countries worldwide.

Property Council of Australia – Reimagining its Academy
Property Council educators can now run virtual classrooms and build hybrid content that can combine self-paced learning online with face-to-face classroom learning, as well as checking the knowledge gained by its learners using multiple choice quizzes at the end of a course. Since implementing D2L Brightspace the Academy has reimagined its course delivery and now provides digital learning experiences, enabling learners to be able to complete their courses in their own time and at their own pace.
