Highlights from the December release:
- Calendar: Quiz availability dates will now show all availability dates in Calendar
- Quizzes: Students will now see a parenthetical note for bonus questions after the Question number, the same as we do for mandatory questions
- Data Hub: Brightspace Data Sets (BDS) Major Version 9 is now available. Version 8 will still be accessible through March 2024.

Purdue University Creates a Foundation for e-Learning Success
Starting university is a major milestone for students in their academic careers. It’s a time of new opportunities and challenges—and never has that been truer than for students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead of navigating a new campus, students had to adapt to online learning at the same time as their educators and administrators. Purdue University rose to the challenge with Learning Online 101, a self-paced Brightspace course created to help students adapt to virtual and dynamic learning environments. The course materials were designed to help students find answers to common questions about virtual learning and connect them with the university’s support services and learning resources.

TRECA – Supporting at-risk students with personalized learning

Offering an online alternative to traditional K-12 education in Ohio, TRECA often serves as a last line of protection for students who are at risk of dropping out. Empowering Students with Independent Learning
Traditional approaches to university teaching can make it difficult for instructors to identify gaps in student understanding, which impacts pass rates and creates barriers to educational attainment. The University of Huddersfield is using the Brightspace platform to shape engaging blended learning experiences and reports that the pass rate for one professor’s courses has been boosted to 100 percent.

Victoria University (VU) is a dual-sector tertiary institution that provides higher education and Technical and Further Education (TAFE) courses to 40,000 students. The University operates various metropolitan and regional campuses which are scattered throughout the state of Victoria in Australia. As a dual-sector University, VU offers students an easy pathway from vocational education to higher education. With a history dating back 1916, VU is ranked in the top two per cent of universities worldwide by Times Higher Education.
