I have quizzes with a firm release date, due date, and end date. These are firm. I do not want students submitting quizzes beyond the due date. The due date and end date are identical. Yet I continually find submissions that are accepted by the server/script AFTER the due date has passed.
It seems to simply accept these so long as the student OPENED the quiz before the due/end date. This is unacceptable. There must be some way to establish a firm end date/time. I am not referring to a timed quiz. Students have all the time they want from the point the quiz is released to the time it is due (usually two weeks). But when it's due, it's due! How can I set this up?
Further information: I give reading quizzes that are based on the assigned readings for a given date/chapter. After those assignments/quizzes have come due, I release video lectures. I release these to the entire class at set times. I cannot have a student start the quiz before it's due, then have the lectures become available (even if it's not to the specific student's account) while her quiz is still in progress and she can simply watch the video on another screen/computer/account. These are on campus students who share resources, study areas, etc. It isn't a "go at your own pace" online course. Governing this by due date seems like the most commonplace, secure method of release scheduling, but I don't know. Am I missing something? Where is the loophole that students are submitting things after the fact?
