Is it possible to add a late enrolled student to an existing Attendance register? If yes, please advise how.
If not, is there a way to upload existing attendance data from a csv file into a new Attendance register?

Yes, if the existing Attendance Register is configured to include all users, any newly enrolled student should appear in the register automatically. If the register is limited to specific groups or sections, make sure the student is enrolled in the group/section the register has bene made available to.
Unfortunately its not currently possible to import attendance data into a register by CSV. The idea to import attendance data by csv into the attendance tool is a good one. Please consider making a submission into the Product Idea Exchange.

Thanks Chris, the register was limited to a specific section, which the late enrolled student was enrolled in. I found that I had to remove the limit to the section from the register, save, add back the restriction to the section, and save. This successfully added the late enrolled student to the register and more importantly, did retain attendance records for existing students within the register.
