Video Postings in Discussion Topics

Hello Community, I am trying to set up my course to require student video postings to Discussion Topics. To help with grading, I want to be able to get a transcript for those videos. But I don't want other students to get the transcript, just CC. I have tried to use Kaltura media, available via Insert Stuff, but I don't see how to view CC or get a transcript. (I entered Student View mode and created a video posting).

Any advice on how to set up video discussion postings would be appreciated.

Thanks for reaching out! If you use the Brightspace Video Note through Insert Stuff, we have the option of enabling and auto-generating CC, which gives the option to view the transcript and also download it. Unfortunately, this option is also available to students as well. More information - View and download audio-video transcripts

Regarding Kaltura via Insert Stuff — when videos are submitted through Kaltura's LTI player, CC and transcript visibility are managed on the Kaltura side rather than within Brightspace. If your institution uses Kaltura, your Kaltura administrator would need to configure player-level settings to control transcript access by role.
