Randomly selecting Case Scenarios in Quiz

I want to ask if there is a way to create multiple case scenarios in Brightspace. For example, if there are 8 case scenarios and each scenario includes 8 questions, can Brightspace randomly select just one scenario out of the six? Also, where should the case scenario text be placed within Brightspace?

I believe the scenario you are referring to is implemented using Quiz Sections. Unfortunately, there is no native or direct way to randomly assign an entire scenario (i.e., a section with its associated questions) to a learner.

While Question Pools allow for randomization, they operate at the question level rather than the scenario/section level. For example, a pool can randomly select a subset of questions (e.g., 8 questions from a set of 64), but it cannot randomize and deliver an entire grouped scenario as a single unit.

A possible workaround is to use separate quizzes combined with randomized group enrollment:

• Create 8 separate quizzes, each representing a different scenario
• Create 8 groups and randomly assign learners to these groups
• Assign each group access to one corresponding quiz

This approach ensures each learner receives only one full scenario and is the most effective method for achieving true “1 of 8 scenario” randomization.

Regarding adding text to scenarios, you can use Quiz Sections as follows:

• Open the quiz and go to the scenario dropdown
• Select Edit Section
• Use the Section Text area to add your scenario description

Learners will see this section text at the top, followed by the associated questions within that section.
