What is the retention period for deleted evidence in Portfolio? I hope to seek advice if there is a "window period" where instructors can restore them before they are permanently deleted.

Thank you for your question.
At this time, Brightspace Portfolio (ePortfolio) does not have a defined retention period or recycle bin for deleted evidence. When evidence is deleted, it is removed immediately and there is no built-in option for instructors or administrators to restore it.

In some cases, D2L Support may be able to attempt a recovery from system backups, but this is not guaranteed and depends on timing and data availability.
Because of this, there isn’t a reliable “grace period” during which deleted evidence can be restored.
As a best practice, we recommend downloading or exporting important evidence before deletion where possible.
