Is it possible for learners to pick 4 out of 5 questions to complete?

In Brightspace, is it possible to set 5 written questions but have learners only attempt 4 questions (manually chosen by learner)?

i.e. The quiz format would offer 5 questions. Learner is able to make the choice to select 4 questions (25 marks each) to do. Total mark should reflect 100 marks.

Great question! Brightspace doesn't currently have a built-in option that allows learners to choose which questions to answer (e.g., "pick 4 of 5 to be graded on").

However, one possible workaround is to set the questions to Bonus, allowing the learner to see all 5 questions and choose the 4 they want to answer and submit.

• With the Bonus question approach, grading would need to be handled manually by the instructor so the scores are reflected correctly in the gradebook.

If having the learner decide upfront which questions to answer and have the quiz graded automatically is important to your use case, I'd encourage you to submit this as a feature request on the Product Idea Exchange (PIE)! The product team actively reviews submissions there.
