Limitations on single-member user specific groups?

Is there a limit to the number of discussions you can have in an auto- enrol group set as single-member user specific?

    We use this feature to create private discussion topics for each student in the class. We are wondering if the original limitation of 200 has been increased. We are thinking it was but cannot find any documentation of this.
