Adding collaborators to media library folders under distributed administration
We have recently moved to a distributed administration structure, and it appears that our instructors are no longer able to create shared folders or add collaborators to existing folders in the media library. I suspect this may be because of the users permissions that are required for the instructor role to do this, but would welcome advice if there is a workaround.

Hello @Karen.T.723, thanks for your question!
This does sound like a permission issue, but I'm not sure if it's due to your roll-out of Distributed Admin since the Media Library is managed from the top organization level. Adding collaborators is managed by an org-level permission for the Content Services tool. If you go into your Roles and Permissions for the Instructor role, filter by the tool Content Services, and verify that "Can Manage Folder Collaborators" is enabled for the Organization.
Is it possible that this was turned off by mistake? For reference, here's some documentation regarding adding collaborators.
I'm hoping that this helps get you sorted out but if you continue to have problems I would recommend that you or your Approved Support Contacts open a case with our Support team who can check directly within your environment.

Thank you, Stephen! I'm not sure how/why my question posted twice! 😬 Anyhow, yes, I did find that documentation and verified that the indicated permissions were on for the instructor role. I also was able to verify that instructors in a part of the organization where the Distributed Admin structure has not yet been fully rolled out (so they are still instructors at the org level and are not yet enrolled in their suborg) are able to manage folder collaborators with the current permissions settings.
The documentation notes that there are some related Users settings that must also be on for this to work, and I'm wondering if the issue is somehow related to the fact that the Users tool has not yet been implemented for Distributed Admin. Or… perhaps the fact that the "Can Manage Folder Collaborators" permission only exists at the Organization level means that their role in the suborg is not relevant to whether this works for them — it has to work for their role in the Org. Hmm… food for thought.
