!!!! Urgent: Brightspace Class Progress – Need downloadable student-level data for AY26S1 co‑marking
Description
From AY26 Semester 1, NYP will implement a new co‑marking policy where Class Progress (%) contributes to students’ raw module grades:
- ≥70% → +2%
- 50–69% → +1%
- <50% → 0%
This applies to School of Business, School of IT, and School of Applied Science, affecting >2,700 students.
Module Leaders are required to finalise Class Progress outcomes by Week 17 (Friday, 5:00 PM). Verification and moderation will take place from Week 19 onwards.
Issue / Impact
Currently, Class Progress is only viewable via a dashboard in Brightspace:
- No option to download or export student-level Class Progress data
- Difficult to review all students holistically
- High verification and audit risk, as Class Progress is dynamic and continues updating based on student LMS activity
- Recorded scores in Week 17 may differ from values seen during later moderation
At scale (>2,700 students), manual recording or screenshots are not feasible and error‑prone.
Request
Preferred solution:
Enable a download/export function for Class Progress:
- All students in a module
- Excel (.xlsx) format
- Overall Class Progress %
- (If possible) timestamp/snapshot date
This file will serve as the official reference for grading, verification, and moderation.
If not feasible:
Please advise any system-supported workaround that allows reliable capture of Class Progress at a fixed point in time.
Business Impact
- Affects multiple schools and thousands of students
- Direct impact on grading accuracy, verification, and academic governance
- Urgent requirement before AY26S1 week 17 collection of result

Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to us with your request.
Given the details outlined and the urgency expressed, this request would be best handled through our support channels to ensure proper assessment and prioritization.
I would recommend the following next steps:
- Log a Support Case with Product Support so the team can review your use case in detail and advise on any currently supported approaches or workarounds.
- Engage your TAM/CSM to help address this based on the scale and business impact.
- Submit a PIE (Product Idea Exchange) request, as the ability to export or snapshot Class Progress is not currently available and would require a product enhancement.
As a potential workaround, you may also consider leveraging the Content Progress Advanced Data Set (ADS), which provides insight into content viewed by users across org units within a specified date range. While not a direct snapshot of Class Progress, it may help support a more controlled and consistent data extraction approach.
I hope you find this information helpful.
