Availability of Course Templates

Dear Brightspace Community,

We are the new adaptors of the D2L Brightspace LMS. We will be creating our courses soon but we would like to know if there are any templates for the courses in the system that we could use initially. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Depending on what you mean by templates for courses, there are different tools and/or resources you could leverage.

Within our Brightspace Community (the platform wherein we're communicating), we have a Training category of resources that I'd encourage you to explore.

More specifically, assuming you're referring to HTML templates, within the Free Teaching Tools and Course Inspiration section, you will find some pages describing our free HTML templates (i.e. V5 and V3 templates). If you're not familiar with how to use HTML templates, here is a resource that may help better understand how to Use Content in Content.

Additionally, I would also encourage you to visit the D2L Academy, a D2L-hosted instance of Brightspace which contains a catalog of Brightspace courses. Therein, you will also find some good resources on the topic of Instructional Design Best Practices. You can access the D2L Academy by following the link in the Quick Links panel on the homepage of Brightspace Community (login required).
