I'm new to Brightspace. How can you tell if content is a page, a PPT, a Word file, or a PDF? It seems difficult to tell.

You can edit the content topic by clicking on the three dots (screenshot below), it would show whether the file added to the topic is a .docx or a Pdf. (Screenshots below). If it is an HTML page, you can again edit the topic and click on source code </> option toI am also sharing content related documentation which would help understand content tool and how you can organize content in Brightspace:
