Work around for adding special access to discussions

For the first two discussion topics in my course students who enrolled late need special access. Are there work arounds for allowing individual students access after the end date for the rest of the class?

    Hi, @Philip.B.2159.

The only idea that occurs to me might be to remove the end date on the discussion topic and then add a release condition that only students who have "no posts authored in topic" can access it. But I'm not sure if that would produce the results you need. Has everyone else already posted? Do students only need to post once?

The list of condition choices for Discussions are:
Posts authored in topic (select discussion, specify number of posts, specify type: threads, and/or replies)
Score on associated rubric (select discussion, select rubric)
No posts authored in topic (select discussion, specify type: no threads, and/or no replies)

Maybe there's some combination that would be useful to you.
