Quiz total in gradebook

I have a quiz where points per question are correct, but the gradebook total does not reflect the true quiz total. Can I correct this after students have started taking this quiz?

The Grade Item has its own value for the grade score. It doesn't have to match what is set up in the quiz. For example, if you had a quiz that added up to a maximum of 71 points you may not want to have to incorporate that value with the rest to arrive at a grand total. In that case you can set the Grade Item the quiz is associated with to 100 points to make the Grades page look 'prettier'.

To adjust this, go to Grades (as an Admin/Instructor) and click Manage Grades. Then click the grade item the quiz is associated with and you will find "Grading" > "Maximum Points" half-way down the page. You should be able to enter a new value here to match your quiz. If you cannot edit that grade item's max points value, it may be that it's part of a Grade Category. In that case you'll need to adjust the category configuration.

*Be mindful that this may disrupt the overall gradebook configuration though.
