Relaese Conditons in online course

Hello,

I’m setting up an online course, and I want to use release conditions to control access to content. I noticed that when I add release conditions at the course level, the whole course becomes hidden until the conditions are met.

What I’m hoping for is slightly different:

• I’d like all units to appear in the course navigation (so students can see they are coming up), but remain greyed out and inaccessible until the release conditions are met.
• I have no due dates in the course, so I don’t want content to be automatically released based on dates—just based on completion of prior activities or other conditions.

Has anyone successfully configured release conditions this way, so students can see upcoming units but not access them yet? Any guidance would be appreciated!

Hi Parm. I don't think this is possible at the moment. As you mentioned, you can view (but not select) content which is due to be released on a future date, however there's no way to make topics visible if they're hidden behind release conditions. At the moment, we advise making learners aware of the structure of modules at the start so that they understand content will be released once certain milestones have been achieved.
